Every contributor has at least twenty-five years of real operating experience. Each application is read personally by a founder, followed by a call and quiet, thorough reference checks. We'd rather stay small than lower the bar. Read their bios, see their philosophy, pick the one whose path looks most like yours.
Book and pay.
Choose a time that suits you and write a short note (a paragraph is plenty) on what you'd like to talk about, then pay securely to book. Your payment is held safely, and your expert confirms the time, usually within a day. Then your video call link and calendar invite arrive. If they can't take it, you're refunded in full, automatically. Need to cancel? Full refund up to forty-eight hours before.

Meet on a private video call at the appointed time. No decks, no upsells, no one trying to turn a call into a retainer. Just you and someone who has genuinely been there. Loved it? Book them again. Didn't click? Try someone else next time, on us.

How much does a conversation cost?+
Contributors set their own rates. A first conversation is a full hour, and you see the total upfront before you request it. No booking fees, no hidden charges.
Do I pay when I book?+
Yes. You pay upfront to book, and it's held safely, not released to the expert until after your call. Your expert confirms the time, usually within a day, and if they can't take it you're refunded in full, automatically. A full refund also stands up to forty-eight hours before the call.
Are the experts real people I can check out?+
Yes. Every profile in the directory is a real, named person, read, called and reference-checked personally by the founders, LinkedIn links included. We publish no inflated numbers; what you see is the actual cohort.
Can I share confidential material before the call?+
Yes. You can attach an NDA when you book; it's stored privately and shared only with the expert you're booking, before you meet.
Could I eventually hire my expert directly?+
Yes. After twelve months of engagement through the platform, you can hire them directly at no charge. We'd rather you stayed because it works than because a contract trapped you.
How are contributors vetted?+
Every application is read personally by a founder. We verify experience through LinkedIn and quiet reference checks, require a minimum of twenty-five years in the field, and speak to every expert before they're listed.
What if the call isn't useful?+
Email us within forty-eight hours and we'll refund you in full. It rarely happens, but we stand behind every booking.
Can I cancel or reschedule?+
Yes, any time up to forty-eight hours before, for a full refund. Inside forty-eight hours, it's at the contributor's discretion.
How does blue lemons make money?+
We take a fifteen percent commission on each booking. No fee to clients. No subscription. No upsells. If our contributors don't get booked, we don't make a penny, which is exactly the incentive you want us to have.
Is my information private?+
Yes. UK-hosted, GDPR-compliant, and your session brief is only ever seen by the contributor you're booking. Contributors sign a confidentiality agreement when they join.
