International payout fees

Last updated 15 October 2026

Clients pay in pounds, and your share of every call is worked out in pounds. If your bank account is outside the UK, Stripe, our payment provider, charges us extra to send your share abroad and convert it into your currency, and how much depends on the country. The international payout fee is there to cover that cost, and we set it for each country from what Stripe charges us.

It is a percentage of your share, the 85% you keep, taken off each payout and shown as its own line on your statements. For example, if the rate for your country were 1%, a payout of £151 would carry a fee of £1.51, and £149.49 would be sent to you. Stripe then converts it at its own exchange rate on the day. Experts paid in the UK pay no international payout fee.

Rates by country

The rate for the country your bank account is in. We show you yours before you add your bank details, and we give you at least 30 days’ notice before it changes.

We are confirming these rates with Stripe. Until they are set, we can only pay experts whose bank account is in the UK. If you are waiting to join from elsewhere in Europe, we will be in touch as soon as they are.

“Not available yet” means we can’t pay into a bank in that country at the moment. If that’s you, please get in touch at hello@bluelemons.co.uk.

The fee is part of the expert agreement. It is not tax advice: how you treat it on your own return is a question for your accountant.
